The system by which certain state benefits may be re-claimed from part of the compensatory award in an unfair dismissal claim. The central idea is that a Claimant who is compensated for his or her entire loss from losing a job should not be compensated twice for the same loss by receiving state benefits and compensation. Generally, compensation far exceeds the loss for which state benefits only partly compensate.
